Galaxy S3 vs. iPhone-5

I would wager that this is the best time ever to buy a smart phone. There is something for every smart phone lover to admire whether it is Apple, Nokia, HTC, Samsung or even LG. Still the two names very much stand out at the moment, Apple and Samsung.  The million dollar question is, which the best smart phone in the market.  The iPhone 5 from Apple and Galaxy S3 from Samsung are the centre of attraction at the moment. Both have there positives and negatives no doubt but here we’ll focus more on pointing out the major differences in the smart phones then to declare a winner.

Processor:

Samsung Galaxy S3 is available in two different versions, each with a different processing power. The international Edition has a Quad core processor whereas the US version comes with a dual core processor. iPhone 5 features dual core processor in all the phone. Now how much difference does that make? Not a great deal actually because the US version of S3 has more RAM to make up for the lack of processing power. Both the phones are able to handle bulk of applications without any compromise in the performance.

Battery:

Battery performance of both the phones is very much the same.

Weight:

As for weight Samsung Galaxy S3 weighs little heavier 133g compared to 116g for iphone5. Having said that, galaxy S3 also features a giant 4.8 inch screen.

Design: 

Design also plays a very significant role in the preference. iPhone5 has a Glass and Aluminum body but well finished plastic exterior of Samsung still manages to instill elegance. Huge 4.8 inch screen also adds a lot to the overall beauty of the phone.

OS:

Due to different ecosystems in both these phones it is difficult to compare them directly. If it all comes down to the OS then iOS is proffered by Apple fans for its simplicity and huge bank of apps, mainly the paid ones. Android fans love it because it provides complete customization at any level and rich in free apps.
